The water is our life blood

Water is one of the most essential things for living beings along with food and air. It’s a gift of nature and it’s needed by all living beings. A living being cannot live without water although it may survive without food for many days.

We are using water for many purposes. First of all it’s to drink and it’s to reduce our thirsty. And we can make so many drinks with water. Water is a main source to agriculture and industrial activities. Without water we cannot do agriculture, so no food to eat and no life. And also we cannot live without food; to make the foods we need water. Sri Lanka known as a hydrology civilized country. So we are depending on hydro power. Man’s civilization begun with water. Water made him to live comfortably.

Water is a good mixer. We can mix lot of things with water. A lot of thing dissolve in water.71% of our earth is water, So we are using water transport system. They are very helpful to all and our countries economy. In Sri Lanka we have the natural harbors too.

We have so many problems with water too. When floods come water is like a devil. It destroys everything. The flood is the most common natural disaster. When water is not there that is also a major problem. 

When drought comes, we feel the validity of the water, on that moment we realize the value. When Tsunami time also we faced so many problem. The sea water destroyed everything in the coastal areas in this world.

When we look at the current situation of the water, the major problem is water pollution. The industrial wastage , residential wastage, the drainage system wastage also now throw to waterways. Not only the wastage is polluting the water but also the disaster also pollutes the waterways.

So we must protect the water. We must not to pollute the water ways and we have to keep them clean. We have the duty  to use the water in better way. Not to waste it and use it for maximum benefit.

University life.

When we think about university life all of them told us the university life is the best moment in our life, but that is not the exact thing. Before coming to the university I had dream about university life. When I entered to the university it was not like my dream, it was different world than my dream.

The first challenge students are facing in university the language problem, because most of the student studying in their mother tongues tills their advance level. After the advanced level in universities lecturing are going on English language. So it is the first challenge for students to understand the concepts. Not only is this the problem but also other community students also gathering in universities. That is also one of the challenges. Some of them coming from country sides, some of them from cities all of them were gathering in one community, so first they were try to communicate but most of them were afraid to communicate with others.

The second challenge is facilities. Some students coming from cities, so they cannot feel comfortable in hostels, boarding places. Most of the students are coming out side from their home for the first time. So suddenly they couldn’t manage the facilities that they provide here. The canteen is also poor. Because of those students are getting trouble to get healthy foods. So they will become physically and mentally ill.

Next challenge is the teaching method of the universities. In schools the teachers teaching each and everything. But in universities they will not teaching, they are lecturing. So they will not teaching so students will not understand this situation for the first time.

As a university student I also faced those challenges. It took some times to be normal.

A Good library.

The Library is a collection of books intended for reading or reference. A library is a good place for school students. The students who spend an extra time on learning after a regular class find the library satisfying due to online materials, books on shelves and a good atmosphere. Students can search for books which are useful to self-learning. There are several books on various subjects. Because of this, they do not get riled up only because of no preferred textbooks. Furthermore, students do not have to pay money to find a textbook in a library to read and practice exercises inside the textbook.

A good library is a great blessing to people especially to the middle and poor classes. Because they cannot afford to buy all the books they would like to read. As members of a library, paying a small subscription, they have the advantage of being able to barrow the books they need to get.

 The library facilities should be in all of the villages, cities schools, Institutes and country side also. The good library tends to create a love for learning. Students feel comfortable while reading a book in a library. General information on all branches of knowledge and specific information on particular favorite subjects of special study may be gathered from visited to library. 

The good library is not only for useful to school students but also higher education students. As a university student the library is a valuable teacher for us, in university education system every student must use the library get the knowledge about our studies. In universities the lecturers are not giving the each and everything. They just give the idea regarding our studies. For further knowledge we must university library is more powerful thing to every student.

In conclusion, when finishing a normal class, students who think learning in class is not enough and still want to increase more time to study can go to a library which has a proper temperature to find books and even look for online materials to help do school assignments.

Internet.

The internet is becoming popular now.After invention of internet most of the needs and wants are full filling from the internet.It is being used for many purposes.Through the help of the world wide web and websites,the the internet has become very useful in many ways for the public.Now a days we can easily access the internet. Even mobile phones also we can use the internet.The internet is connecting the whole world in one hand.

The biggest advantage of using internet is getting the information.The internet offering us to easily access all the information.It can be any type .Any kind of the information available in the internet. For educational purpose we can use the internet.Now we can purchase the all of the software in internet.In internet there are so many tutorials to give the idea about the software and how to use it,What is the use of that software.How can we improve our knowledge with that software and all of the details about the software. So we don't want to go to institute and spend all of the money to travel and get the idea of that lessons.Just stay at home and we can study with the videos.No stress no tired  no time waste.Just relax and study.


By using internet we can communicate within few seconds with a person who is sitting in the other part of the world.For better communication we are using E mail.We chat with the email.There are some messenger services providing in email.With the  help of this service we can easily establish a global friendship where we can share our ideas and thoughts.

Today social networking sites have becoming popular.Now it takes an important part of this society. The society giving that much importance to social medias.Now we can contact with others easily.The advantage of that no ethnicity problems no color of the skin problems.All of them a interacting to each other and being with friendship and sharing their thoughts. There are so many entertainment also.we can spend our  leisure time with the internet.

Not only the advantages in the internet there are some disadvantages also.The internet giving a machinery life .Most of them now just sitting in front of the internet  and becoming mentally and physically ill.They don't spent there time with the family members and friends.That is not good thing.We need to spend our life with our family,neighbors,friends.There are some cultural effects also.So we need to take the good things and avoid bad things.

Money

Everyone uses money.We all need money.Every day we all think about money and how to earn more money.

 Now a day's we cannot live without money,The money is that much of important thing in our life now.

  Money is the way we get the things we need and want.As long people believe in money.The central Bank issue the currency for fulfill their needs.

Money is an item record that is generally accept as payment for goods and services and repayment of debits in a particular country or socio economic context.This is the definition of wikipedia about money.

Now we will see the definition of dictionary about money.Any circulating medium of exchange,including coins, paper money, and demand deposits.

money refers to any commodity that can be used as a medium of exchange , a unit of account, a store of value and a standard for postponed payements.(Robinson & Hamil)

However , for the purpose of economics, money actually has three distinct uses, some of which are not adequately coverd in the above definition.

These are:-

                        A medium of Exchange

         A unit of Account

           A store of value

    By these definitions  money is a main medium of exchange.When money is used to intermediate the exchange of goods and services, it is functioning as a medium of exchange.

Before the development of using money  people would barter to obtained the goods and services they needed. Basically two people each come to an agreement and they trade their goods. So on that time it was a big problem.To solve this problem  came commodity money.After the  invention of money exchanging is not that much of difficult thing and it became a easiest way to exchange.

In this world there are so many  unites to measure the money. The measurements are different to country to  country.In Sri Lanka we are using Rupees. Dollars are the valuable currency unit.The value of Dollar is higher than other currencies. Euro is the currency  is specially made for European countries .

Visite to Galle Fort

We went on a field trip to Galle fort on 15^th of October 2015.

Galle fort is nice area. I was shocked when I enter to Galle fort. Because I felt like I entered to the foreign country so many foreigners walking here and there and there were few local people. It was nice experience to me.

 The government is conserving the Galle fort very well. When we look at the Galle fort still we can see the Dutch type of buildings and fort area. Government is conserving the historical and architectural values of Galle fort from strike rules.

For an example:

If anyone wants to repair or do any construction works within Galle fort they cannot do anything without the permission of archeology department, urbancouncil, Galle heritage foundation, Coastal conservation department. First of all they want to consult a consultant to get idea and permission. With their permission they can start the work. These types of rules are the main thing for the protection of Galle fort. So it is hard to destroy the historical values.

In this case we want to consider other side also. Because of the rules thepublic were facing so many problems. Archeology department collect the consultant fees about 1-3 lucks for only the consulting. Because of this public cannot bare this situation and they living within damaged house or they try to do that illegally. As a student we should try to find the solution for the public, but we want to consider the historical value also.

After lunch I walked around the entire Galle Fort area. The climate was very sunny but I walked around the area. The climate did not an effect for me that time.Because that Galle for area is very nice and charm for me.It was different from other cities in Sri Lanka and I never being this kind of place before. 

That area is very amazing area. When I climbed to that rampart of the Dutch fort I was shock, because I saw the entire Galle Fort and beach side. On that time I watch the live cricket tournament. It also amazing experience for me.

When I was sit the ramparts I felt like a queen. Because there I could see the entire area of Galle. Beach side also very pleasant to see. We can watch the activities of the people there.

When we look at the architectural value of Galle fort still we can see the architectural value. They did not destroy the architectural values. They loving it and trying to protect them. We also want to give the support to protect those. We can conduct awareness programs and encourage the peoples, students to conserve the historical values.

This field trip is a nice and enjoyable trip for me.

The most favourite film

The most favorite film I have ever watched is Bhahubali the beginning is a 2015 Indian bilingual epic historical fiction film directed by S.S Rajamouli.  A fictional story of two warring brothers fighting for control of an ancient Indian kingdom, it stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty in lead roles. Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Nassar, Adivi Sesh, Tanikella Bharani and Sudeep appear in supporting roles. Director S.S Rajamouli has done some remarkable things with this monumental film, which is the first of a two-part tale. He has written a whole new and original epic.

The hero is Shiva (Prabhas), a prince who is smuggled out of his kingdom and raised by a different tribe. He grows up not knowing his lineage, but acquires some serious rock-climbing skills. Shivudu grows up aspiring to hike the waterfall, he makes several unsuccessful attempts much against his mother's wishes. Sanga reaches out to Swamiji fearing her child's safety who advises her to pour water on Shivling for 116 times. When Shivudu finds this, he picks Shivling on his shoulders and puts it right below the waterfall which delights his mother. He then finds a mask of a girl which torrents from the waterfall, curious to find out who she is, he attempts to hike the waterfall again and succeeds.He was found that girl who was the heroine.She also fall in love with shiva.After this shiva went to the palace and protect the dhevasena,(she was the former queen.).She was chained by past 25 years. shiva  rescue her  from the palace.On that time the group of securities tried to attack shiva ,but he fighted againts them and rescue her.The kings royal guard kattappa(sathyaraj) chased shiva.On that moment he comes to know shiva is the son of Dhevasena and  Bahubali.After he told all of the story about his father and hidden secrets.After it shiva asked who  killed my father???????On that time all off them shocked hearing answers of Kattappa.He told I am the one who killed the king Bahubali with tears in his eyes.The film will continue soon.The next part of film will continue in next episode.

 

In this film every second is a surprise to audience.The ending of film is also really nice. It also gives some kind of expectation to the audience.I love this film very much and I enjoyed it very well.
